Lady Mary Fitzwilliam' (PR2)18"X24"
Lady Mary Fitzwilliam is large-flowered. Named for a grand-daughter of King William IV, 'Lady Mary Fitzwilliam' was raised by Henry Bennett in 1882. It was once greeted with derision: 'A weaker and more unsatisfactory grower it would be impossible to find,' sneered one writer of the day. However, it is one of the most important ancestors of Modern Garden Roses, and it is still a lovely, fragrant bloom in soft pink. Foliage is pale green and matt.

Blush Rambler' Rambler (PR4)18"X24"
The pale pink flowers open wide to show their stamens, and come in large sprays. They are not at all large, but are refreshingly fragrant. The foliage is light green, scarcely glossy, and the flexible branches are almost thornless. Vigorous in growth, this is a pretty cottage garden flower. It was raised by B. R. Cant& Sons in 1903. 'Crimson Rambler x The Garland. Summer flowering Fragrant

Lady Rose (RR 1)18"X24"
Kordes Rose Lady Rose'. Reimer Kordes might have named 'Lady Rose' after a real-life lady or maybe he just wanted to draw our attention to the fact that there is some thing that is very feminine in the big, shapely, sweetly scented flowers, despite the brightness of their orange-pink color. There is certainly nothing delicate about the bush, which is on the tall side and rudely healthy with dark glossy green foliage. 'Lady Rose" won the Belfast gold medal in 198 1, the year it was introduced. Unnamed seedling x' Traumerei" Repeat flowering Fragrant

National Trust (RR3,5)24"X30"
If National Trust' had scent, it would be the near-perfect red rose, its color brilliant, its form excellent and its compact bush easy to grow and prolific in bloom. Nonetheless, it is one of the best red roses for bedding and has dark, leathery green foliage. No doubt it has found its way into many gardens looked after by the National Trust-a body founded in England in 1895 to care for the nation's heritage-and in the gardens of the National Trusts that have followed it everywhere. It was raised by Sam McGredy in 1970. Bad Neuheim is a famous spa in Germany, and it is appropriate that this rose grows very well there.

My Blue Rose (BR 1)16"X24"
Large-flowered. 'Admiral Cowdisley ', 'Bellrophen'. Legend has it that Admiral Cowdisley Shovel who commanded HMS Bellrophen the ship that transported Napolean to Elba , was visiting Francis Turner's nursery near Bristol, was the first to be shown a yet unnamed new rose, its huge flowers blending cobalt and pale cereulean, its dark green foliage large and shining, its vigor prodigious. 'It is,' he said, 'undoubtedly the most unique rose in the world.' That was in 1818, and with the confusion of the times, the new rose appeared under several names-'Agnes Jones' in Wales, in honor of Shovel's late mother, 'Angie' in London, '' and everywhere else, as 'My Blue Rose'. The world echoed the Admiral: 'My Blue Rose' won every award there was, and remains the world's favorite rose. It needs protection against black spot in humid climates.
